Description

M42 - The Heart of Orion

M42 is a diffuse nebula situated south of Orion's Belt, and one of the brightest nebulae visible to the naked eye in the night sky.

This is a true Hybrid Image, made out of Data from POSS-II (R, B), The Hubble Space Telescope (R, G, B) as well as RGB Amateur Data, captured by myself using a 8" Newtonian and a unmodded Canon EOS 1000D.

Mount: HEQ5. Guiding: Lacerta MGEN2.

Image Assembly & Processing: Oliver Czernetz.

Software: Fits Liberator, Deep Sky Stacker, Registar, Photoshop CS5.
